Upstairs

I feel like an update but not like writing... so here's a list!

- I finished taking the nails out of the wood. There might be a few I missed, so that's my job this weekend.
- The office had screws holding up the thicker drywall, so those need taken out.
- The dumpster is gone.
- There's still trash up there.
- We think it won't take much to clean up. Especially with the help of my dad's shop vac.

My mom and dad came by the other day to discuss things they've looked into. It looks like it'll take a little bit more money than we originally planned, so let's hope we get the money back from taxes that I think we're due! A

And just what do we have planned for the upstairs, in case you're wondering...

- Four new walls. We're waiting for my parents to get back from their vacation in order to help build them.
- Possibly a new (slightly different, but not much) layout for our office. Nothing major - but there was an angled wall that was shared with Doug's closet and just didn't server a purpose in either one - so it'll most likely be straightened.
- Speaking of the office, we plan on building built in shelves instead of the small closet that was there. It'll be great to have storage for all of our books/notebooks!
- Insulation. The whole reason behind the remodel. We are getting blown in spray foam. It's supposed to be the best and will help soooo much. That's the plan at least. Anything has to be better than what we had.
- Drywall. (Duh!) New drywall for the walls and ceiling. Yep. Talk about a fun job - glad I have an excuse not to help! hehe!
- Paint! I've changed my mind numerous times on the color options... but I think I like the idea of a light, bright color that will make the space feel big (not that it needs help with that - it's a big space already!). I also want white trim, maybe with some natural wood as that's pretty and would match the rest of our house.
- New windows. Four of 'em. It'll help with the heat loss/gain (whatever the temp is outside, that's what that room is - so summers are miserable, winters are impossible!).
- And that's it! For now...

What are my long term plans for the space?
- Two leather recliners for the TV area.
- TV for the TV area
- All furniture for the TV area (TV stand, tables, whatnot)
- Office furniture and decorations (including a desk that would suit both of us!)
- Built in shelves for the TV area and office
- Decorations!
- Jewelry displays/storage for my closet area.
- And probably a lot of things I can't think of right now.

Oh, and then there's the bathroom. Don't get me started on it. We want to put a shower in there, as well as a toilet and sink back in the room. I don't know what the plans are right now, but I'll let you know. It may depend on if we have any left over money (which doesn't look like it).

I plan on taking pictures this weekend with my new camera. It's cleaner now, but not much else has changed.
